Mold remediation in Portland

A note on counties and city limits

Flour Bluff and Padre Island are neighborhoods inside the City of Corpus Christi, not separate towns, so City of Corpus Christi permits apply there. Portland sits mostly in San Patricio County with some parts in Nueces County. Rockport and Fulton are in Aransas County, Port Aransas and Robstown are in Nueces County, and Kingsville is the Kleberg County seat.

Mold cleanup itself usually isn't permitted work, but rebuilding often is. In Corpus Christi, interior remodeling, roofing and foundation repairs use Form 1003, with an elevation certificate if the home is in a floodplain. In the other towns, check with your city building department. If mold work uncovers roof-deck, framing or window damage, a coastal rebuild may need a TDI windstorm (WPI-8) inspection; the rebuild contractor should confirm.

Texas requires TDLR licenses for mold assessment and remediation work on 25 or more contiguous square feet (Occ. Code §1958.101–.102). Verify any company at tdlr.texas.gov/LicenseSearch. Every town on this list follows the same state rules.
